	I’m a designer, builder, and art director interested in clarity — how ideas take shape, how systems support life, and how technology can feel more human instead of more demanding.


My work spans product design, brand identity, visual systems, and creative code. I’m especially drawn to AI-native interfaces and tools that help people make sense of things without adding noise — and increasingly, tools that support expression, taste, and pushing culture forward.


My practice has shifted toward building directly in code — learning how things work beneath the surface, and knowing when to step back into pixels and form. I’m interested in systems that evolve with the people who use them.


I’m also a two-under-two dad, which has sharpened my relationship with time. It’s reinforced my belief that good design isn’t just about solving problems — it’s about care, attention, and protecting what matters. The best tools don’t demand more from us. They give something back.


Away from the screen, I find clarity in black coffee, late-night walks, philosophy, snowboarding, fashion, curated inspo, intentional spaces, and Basquiat drawings.

OVERVIEWHeadquartered in San Francisco, MileIQ is a mileage tracking app that automatically logs your drives and calculates their value for taxes and reimbursements. With a mission to make mileage tracking easy and effortless those who drive for work, MileIQ is saving drivers time and money every year. Along with the iOS and Android app for individual&#38;nbsp; drivers, MileIQ also offers a mileage tracking solution for businesses called MileIQ for Teams.


	
	ROLEDuring my time at MileIQ, I partnered with the Head of Design and UI Lead to tackle a variety of user challenges and design initiatives including an iOS/Android mobile app redesign, website facelift, MileIQ for Teams dashboard optimization, and more. I also owned all marketing-related design such as social media, email campaigns, and other brand collateral used to drive growth.

SUBSCRIPTION PAGE REDESIGN

	
	The goals of the Subscription page redesign project were to communicate the value of the MileIQ Unlimited plan, provide a seamless upgrade and subscription management experience, as well as to highlight key stats for users to better understand the impact MileIQ has had for them. The flow prototyped below is an iOS free user upgrading to MileIQ Unlimited, however many other flows had to be considered and designed for different user types. Some of those flows include downgrading from an Unlimited to Free plan, managing/canceling a subscription, and expired subscriptions.




	CUSTOM RATES V1


	
	Prior to this project, the Custom Rates feature was buried multiple levels within Settings making it inaccessible for Team admins to quickly find. The goal of this effort was to surface the feature at a higher level and provide team admins with the ability to easily track and customize their company’s mileage rates. In order to make this feature more accessible, it was surfaced in the side navigation. The outcome for V1 allows admins to change their current rates, set future rates, view rate history, delete rates, and reset their rate to the IRS default rate. Because MileIQ also has a user base in UK and Canada, the layout of the feature for those was slightly different as they have multiple customizable mileage rates to account for. The US version is the one prototyped below.






COLD START FLOW

	
	The problem that prompted the Cold Start project was the fact that many users were creating MileIQ accounts, but were landing in the app for the first time on a blank screen with no education or guidance. This became both a point of friction and dropoff, so the goal here was to think about how we might better familiarize users with key features upon landing in the app so they’d be empowered to know what to do once they start logging drives. The outcome was an optional 3-step profile completion prompt that guides users to key actions that would make their lives easier prior to hitting the road. These steps included prompting users to add a home and work address, add a vehicle, and enable work hours so MileIQ can automatically classify drives as business during their work time. The plan for testing was to test the experience on Android first to gather any learnings prior to testing on iOS.

	Glo–raise is a global crowdfunding platform that utilizes a data-driven readiness assessment to match founders with funders, streamlining entrepreneurs’ path to the right investment. In partnership with my good friend and colleague, Seth Austin, we performed a full rebrand, a product/website redesign, and ideated future additions for the Glo–raise product. This is an ongoing collaboration.

	OVERVIEWDropbox Focus is photo archiving system that uses smart features, metadata tagging, and suggestions to help you organize and find your photos more seamlessly. The product was designed as a brand extension for Dropbox as an opportunity to utilize their emerging machine learning technology in the context of a photo-based mobile and desktop application.

	CHALLENGEIn today’s digital age, most of us spend a significant (slightly disturbing) amount of time on our smart devices, hoarding thousands of photos from day to day life that almost seem impossible to sort through. Dropbox faces the challenge of solving people’s photo glut problem with a functional photo system that lives and breathes hassle-free.EXECUTION
The outcome of the brand extension is a brand strategy that informs a flexible, energetic new identity and messaging tone, the UX/UI design of the Dropbox Focus app, brand activation through a social media campaign, SXSW-targeted product advertising, as well as the product launch through an organized SXSW event. &#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp;


IDENTITY DEVELOPMENT
	
	
	Before designing the visual identity, we surfed through Dropbox’s current design system, allowing us to better understand the strategy behind their brand guidelines. This inspired us to create a flexible identity system that injects the same vibrant energy and freshness, while still maintaining sharpness and consistency. The idea was to represent an ever-changing photospace and emphasize the notion of focal points.&#38;nbsp;

BRANDING &#38;amp; ADVERTISING
	
	
	The aim of the advertising campaign is to express the brand through a series of general product-driven ads that introduce the product, as well as a series of horizontal street ads targeting people navigating the streets of SXSW. We incorporated conversational copy and calls to action to encourage people to learn more on the Dropbox Focus microsite.&#38;nbsp;

	The social media campaign was used to reflect the smart tagging feature of the Focus app in an interesting way. It showcases a range of colorful snapshots that have their own unique tags to give a sense of how this feature could be utilized within the app. The social media page helps to tie the general ad campaign and Focus Fest together.

ESTABLISHING DIGITAL TOUCHPOINTS
	
	
	For a company driven by technology, it was important to include a series of digital touchpoints to showcase how the brand interacts on screen. These touchpoints include moving street ads and Instagram stories. We also created a Dropbox Focus microsite that people would be lead to when visiting the link seen on social media or advertisements. The Dropbox Focus microsite introduces the product and hints at its unveiling at an event called Focus Fest at SXSW. Once visitors download the app and register with their email on the microsite, they receive an email from Dropbox Focus that provides an invite link they can download. DESIGNING THE DROPBOX FOCUS APP EXPERIENCE
	
	
	For designing the Focus app experience, we chose to take a minimalistic approach that is reflective of existing Dropbox interface design.&#38;nbsp;

PRODUCT LAUNCH AT FOCUS FEST
	
	
	Focus Fest is a compact music festival designed to serve as the official launch party for the Dropbox Focus app. With SXSW being a premier hub for tech innovation, we decided this would be the perfect setting for the event to take place. This party not only showcases the smart photo app, but brings together a lineup of all Texan music acts to rock out at the Mohawk. With a beer sponsorship and collaboration with Lone Star Beer, Focus Fest celebrates talent and innovation in true Austin taste.

	OVERVIEWLocated in middle of downtown Austin, Russian House is a restaurant &#38;amp; bar fully authentic in its food and decor. It was founded by Vladimir Gribkov, a Russian-born executive chef with over 25 years of experience, whose mission is to give every guest a true taste of Russia. With a full range of Slavic cuisine, a collection of over 100 house-infused vodkas, weekly tango nights, and kitschy Russian props to try on, Russian House serves an offbeat cultural dining experience that’ll transport you back to the Old USSR.
&#38;nbsp;

	
	CHALLENGEWith many unique restaurant and bar concepts moving into town, Russian House faces the challenge of standing out against the pack and spreading the word of the rich flavor and experience they offer. In a saturated industry often driven by appeal, I saw an opportunity to embolden the brand and messaging in a way that feels modern and relevant, but also pays homage to the history of Old Russia.&#38;nbsp;
EXECUTIONWith historic nostalgia at the heart of the Russian House experience, the approach for the rebrand was to find the right balance between modernism and antiquity. Drawing inspiration from Russian Constructivist and Suprematist art from the Russian Revolution, the visual identity utilizes bold typography, color, shape, and collage elements to convey a sense of propaganda-like fervor and expressiveness. The messaging tone developed for the brand is a blend of friendly, eccentric, and ironic. The rebrand also includes an ad campaign, social media campaign, menu designs, packaging concepts, merch, and promo material.

OVERVIEWBridge is an immigrant advocacy app that serves as a defense tool and educational resource fo unexpected encounters with ICE and other deportation officials. This app was designed as a speculative product extension for RAICES, the largest immigration legal provider in Texas. The mission of RAICES is to defend the rights of immigrants and refugees, empower individuals, families, and communities, and advocate for liberty and justice.

	PROBLEMUnder the current administration, tensions at the United States Southwest border have grown and many families have been left seperated, in danger, or in fear. With the amazing work RAICES is doing, I saw an opportunity to address how design and technology can be used to design a new tool that will help empower, prepare, and protect the immigrant families and asylum seekers they advocate on behalf of.&#38;nbsp;
EXECUTIONThe outcome is a billingual app that allows undocumented immigrants to add contacts to a support network that can be sent alert messages in times of crisis at the click of a button. The app also includes access to rights education, a readiness checklist, photo/video/audio recording capability, a 24/7 RAICES Hotline, and other resources. 
Through designing this app, I believe we can provide undocumented immigrants with tools to to defend their rights and live in less fear. I also believe we can create a wider dialogue about inclusion and advocating for all human rights. It’s important that we all work harder to understand each other’s situations and lend a hand where we can. This project is dedicated to RAICES and all the other heroes out there fighting day to day for justice, fairness, and equality for all humans regardless of race, ethnicity, nationality, sexual orientation, gender identity, ability, religion, or socioeconomic class.

IDENTITY &#38;amp; UI ELEMENTS

	
	While developing the brand identity, it was important for me to keep in mind how I could use color and typography in a way that wouldn’t appear daunting or off putting to the user, but instead feels warm, safe, and trustworthy. The concept for the name Bridge was derived from the idea of creating a connecting and supporting structure that gives undocumented immigrants access to hope and safety. The name was inspired by a direct quote from RAICES that states, “We believe in bridges. Not tents. Not cages.”

RESEARCH &#38;amp; DESIGN THINKING


	
	To conduct preliminary user research, I used the IBM Enterprise Design Thinking Methodology as a guide to help me better understand the users and their needs. This process allowed me to uncover insights that informed the strategy, tone, and design decisions for the app experience.

ONBOARDING


	
	The onboarding process begins with a Getting Started screen that allows the user to swipe for short blurbs that explain the app’s primary functions and their importance. Once they have swiped through and choose to continue, they are prompted to enter a secure phone number, profile name, and password.

BUILDING A TRUSTED LINE OF DEFENSE

	
	Once the user has set up their profile, they are able to add trusted contacts to their Support Network. The user is able to customize the alert message that would be sent to their contact when engaging the Alert Button in a time of crisis. Language preference of the alert and location sharing is also available.

	The primary function of the Bridge app is the ability to send alerts. The home dashboard is comprised of just two buttons: an alert button and a RAICES Hotline button. The dashboard was kept minimal to ensure a quick and easy alert action for the user. The Alert button is engaged by tapping rapidly for a couple of seconds, as opposed to holding the button. This decision was made to help minimize user error and accidental alerts.

	Rights education is provided as a key feature in the app, which plays an integral part in helping immigrants and refugees understand what they need to know in order to better defend themselves and their families. This section of the app gives clear instructions for what to do during a situation with ICE. Users also have access to a Preparedness Plan and other resources that may serve as added layers of defense.

OVERVIEWThe brief for this project was to design a mobile app related to one of the five senses that either connects, engages, expresses, optimizes, disrupts, or empowers. Inspired by a color blind peer with Enchroma glasses, I chose to focus on exploring the sense of sight and how I could create a disruptive app that uses speculative color fix scanning technology to solve fashion challenges. Vue is an app that enables colorblind men to explore the world of fashion without having to rely on anyone else.


	
	PROBLEM1 in 12, or 8% of all men, struggle with some form of color vision deficiency. Colorblindness can present challenges when it comes to color-coordination, color identification, outfit selection, and clothing organization. How can we leverage color correction technology to empower individuals to further explore the world of fashion? EXECUTIONThe outcome is a mobile app that enables colorblind men to further explore the colorful world of style through relevant news, outfit matching suggestions, and a color-calibrated smart camera that allows them to scan items to better decipher true colors while shopping. The app also includes color fix settings that allows users to tailor the way colors look on the screen based on their colorblindness type.

IDENTITY &#38;amp; UI ELEMENTS

	
	While developing the brand identity, it was important for me to keep in mind that using a monochrome (black, white, and grey) color palette would be ideal to minimize users from having difficulty viewing or navigating the app. I chose to pair a Swiss sans-serif typeface with a serif typeface to channel a casual, editorial feel while still providing clarity.

RESEARCH &#38;amp; DESIGN THINKING


	
	To conduct preliminary user research, I used the IBM Enterprise Design Thinking Methodology as a guide to help me better understand the users and their needs. This process allowed me to uncover insights that informed the strategy, tone, and design decisions for the app experience.

	The onboarding process begins with a Register/Sign In screen that allows the user to create a Vue profile by entering their email and a secure password.

LATEST STYLE NEWS

	
	Once the user has set up their profile, they are taken to the home screen of the app, which is a newsfeed of trending men’s fashion articles to provide a source of inspiration to the user. The user is also able to utilize a search feature to type in keywords that will populate articles based on the clothing items or article types they are looking for.

	One of the key features of the app is the Virtual Closet. This feature allows users to scan clothing items from their closet into a Virtual Closet in the app. Here they are able to sort their scanned items by category.

	Another key feature of the app is the ability for users to generate outfit matching suggestions from the items saved in their Virtual Closet. This feature is designed to helps users that have trouble with color coordination when selecting their daily fit. If the user isn’t feeling the suggested fit, they can click the ‘Try Another Look’ button for another suggestion.&#38;nbsp;

	The Vue Scanner is the highlight feature of the app. This feature allows the user to activate a color-calibrated smart camera that allows them to inspect clothing items to better decipher their true colors. Within the Vue Scanner, users are also able to manually enable color fix controls based on their color vision deficiency. Once the user has selected their color fix controls, they are then able to use the ‘Filter’ mode to apply a filter over the item they are inspecting for a more accurate representation of what it looks like in full color.
